“Il premio ActionAid va a Stanley’s Tiffin Box per la capacità di unire felicemente elementi di attualità di un Paese che ci sta particolarmente a cuore, l’India e la trasmissione, con un linguaggio originale, fresco e profondo, di valori che riteniamo importanti quali la solidarietà, la passione per la giustizia, la ricerca del bene comune.
Con questo premio simbolico vogliamo rendere omaggio dare risalto all’opera del regista Amole Gupte che ha unito al prodotto cinematografico un progetto di lavoro con i bambini protagonisti del film e iniziative di solidarietà per prevenire il lavoro minorile a Mumbai e promuovere i diritti fondamentali dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza in India.
ActionAid, che con la sua campagna Operazione Fame difende il diritto al cibo e la sovranità alimentare di migliaia di comunità nel sud del mondo, ha trovato la Tiffin Box di Stanley un simbolo efficace per parlare dell’importanza di battersi contro la fame e le ingiustizie che la causano ad ogni latitudine”

“The Action Aid award goes to Stanley's Tiffin Box for it ability to depict a country which we really love and for puting together elements such as solidarity, passion, justice and everyone's wellbeing with a fresh, original and deep language. This award aims at honouring Amole Gupte's film and his work with children who are at the core of it together with the fight against children work exploitation in Mumbai alongside the promotion of children and young people's rights in India. Action Aid which also promotes the right to food in the South of the world has chosen Stanley's Tiffini box as a symbol against hunger and injustice in every part of the world”

I personaggi dei tre giovanissimi musicisti sono costruiti in modo da rendere evidente quanto appaiano inaccettabili agli occhi dei più piccoli la violenza, la crudeltà e l’odio seminati dalle scelte degli adulti. La “Canzone dell’amicizia” e il linguaggio universale della musica, oltre a costituire magistralmente il filo conduttore del dramma, sono efficaci veicoli per coinvolgere e per comunicare un profondo insegnamento di pace ed amicizia tra gli uomini.”

“For its original take on the tragic effects of totalitarism in Europe during WWII. The three young musicians in the film are created in a way that the violence, hatred and cruelty that springs out of the world of adults is ever more inacceptable to the eyes of children. The "friendship song" and the universal language of music are the core of the drama and efficient means of conveying the importance of peace and friendship among men.”

“La grandezza di un regista non sta nel raccontare una grande storia ma nel prendere una storia semplice e renderla grande. Submarine è prova tangibile di questo. Attraverso il periscopio di un ideale sottomarino Oliver osserva e analizza la realtà che lo circonda rendendo partecipe lo spettatore del flusso silente dei suoi pensieri. I suoi occhi percepiscono il mondo per suggestioni cromatiche che si palesano sulla pellicola dipingendo il gioco esistenziali delle parti e affidando ad ogni personaggio ed emozione il proprio peculiare colore. Strumento della narrazione è un impianto tecnico sperimentale di altissimo livello che rivisita gli escamotage della cinematografia passata nell’ottica attuale. La giuria di qualità è orgogliosa di assegnare il Gran Premio della Giuria all’esplorazione sottomarina di Richard Ayoade”

“The greatness of a director doesn’t lie in telling a great story, but in making a simple story great. Submarine is a perfect example. Through the periscope of an ideal submarine, Oliver observes and analyses reality around him bringing the spectator in the silent flow of his thoughts. His eyes can see the world through chromatic suggestion which portrays the existential game of the roles giving each character and emotion its distinctive colour. The narrative tool is a high-level technical, experimental framework which tries to revisit the past film industry ploy. The quality jury is proud to award the Jury Grand Prix to Richard Ayoade submarine exploration”

Simon e’ un ragazzo che per vivere bene le sue giornate ha bisogno che il mondo che lo circonda sia praticamente perfetto ed anche il suo lavoro di netturbino lo spinge verso una forte attenzione alla cura dell’ambiente che lo circonda. Simon osserva il mondo e lo traduce con criteri logici e matematici, con una esasperata attenzione che ai meno attenti può apparire come un handicap ma che in realtà non è solo questo perché gli consente una visione degli uomini e del pianeta del tutto personale ed originale.”

“The film Simple Simon revolves around the story of a young boy suffering from Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism which makes his life the same day after day. Simon needs his world to be perfect in order to be serene and his job as a garbage man pushes him to be careful about the world around him. Simon observes the world and translates it into maths and logic with great attention which might seem a handicap to some but it is also his whole personal and original perspective on people and life.”
