Biography

Born in Venezuela from Italian parents, while studying Letters and Philosophy at the University of Turin, she started her career as a professional actress at the school of the Teatro Stabile of Turin.
In 2003, she started to add film roles to her stage experiences. She was noticed and selected by Mimmo Calopresti for the film "La felicità non costa niente".
In the same year, she interpreted Maja in Paolo Vari and Antonio Bocola’s debut film, "Fame chimica", presented at the Venice Festival, and she interpreted Bea in the film "Che ne sarà di noi" by Giovanni Veronesi.
In 2005, she was directed with Fabio Volo by Alessandro D’Alatri in the film "La febbre", which earned her the Biraghi award in Venice as best rising actress. In 2006, she was in the film "Viaggio segreto" by Roberto Andò. The year 2007 saw her protagonist of "Valzer" by Salvatore Maira presented at the 64th Venice Festival, which earned her many awards like the Pasinetti award as best actress.
In 2008, she interpreted the role of Angela in "Viola di mare" by Donatella Maiorca, which earned her a Silver Ribbon nomination and the award as best actress at the NICE Film Festival, which earned her a scholarship at the prestigious Susan Batson’s school in New York. In that same year, she was nominated for the David di Donatello as best lead actress for the film "Signorina Effe" by Wilma Labate.
She never abandoned theater, always being on stage at the same time as cinema, working with many directors: Malosti, Vacis, Avogadro.
In 2010, she starred in the film "Vallanzasca - Gli angeli del male" directed by Michele Placido and in "Italians" by Giovanni Veronesi. The following year, she starred in the lead role in the film "Ruggine" by Daniele Gaglianone, presented at the Venice Days of the 68th Venice Festival. In the same year, she was in the ensemble film "Manuale d’amore 3" once again working under Giovanni Veronesi’s direction.
In 2012, she interpreted "Anita Garibaldi" in the 2-episodes mini-series directed by Claudio Bonivento on Rai1, which earned her the award as best actress at the Rome Fiction Fest.
In 2013, she took part in the second season of the fiction "Una grande famiglia 2". The year 2014 was marked by numerous performances: she was in the cast of "Smetto quando voglio" by Sidney Sibilia. She later was Laetitia Casta’s sister in "Una donna per amica" directed by Giovanni Veronesi and was in the cast of "La settima onda" by Massimo Bonetti.
In 2015, she starred as protagonist in the film "La Terra dei Santi" by Fernando Muraca and was directed again by Michele Placido in the film "La Scelta". She interpreted the role of a welfare worker in Tommaso Agnese’s debut work, "Mi chiamo Maya". She went back to television with the Rai1 greatly successful fiction, "Una grande famiglia", and finally interpreted Francesca Morvillo, wife of judge Giovanni Falcone in the film "Era d'Estate" by Fiorella Infascelli with Beppe Fiorello and Massimo Popolizio.
In 2016, she went on a theater tour with Una giornata particolare, based on the masterpiece by Ettore Scola, where she interpreted the role of Antonietta which was originally interpreted by Sophia Loren, with Giulio Scarpati. The tour, welcomed by a great success, lasted for three seasons, counting over 70 dates.
In 2016, she played in the second and third chapters of the "Smetto quando voglio" trilogy: "Smetto quando voglio Masterclass" and "Smetto quando voglio: Ad Honorem" (autumn 2017).
In may 2017 she was with Kim Rossi Stuart in the successful TV series "Maltese, romanzo di un commissario" by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli, broadcast on Rai 1.
In 2018, she was in the new ensemble film by Gabriele Muccino "A casa tutti bene" and with "Quanto Basta" with Vinicio Marchioni under Francesco Falaschi’s direction, and she went back on stage as lead actress with Molière’s "The Misanthrope" with Giulio Scarpati under Nora Venturini’s direction. In that same year, she took part in "Dolcissime", a comedy by Francesco Ghiaccio, interpreting the role of Marzia.
In 2019, she starred in Giovanni Veronesi’s film "Moschettieri del Re" and was the female narrating voice of Roberto Bolle’s "Danza con Me" on Rai1. She was the protagonist of the music videos of the songs Tre Minuti by Negramaro and Attimo by Gianna Nannini.
