VINCENZO NEMOLATO

JULY 26

Biography

Vincenzo Nemolato is 32 years old, was born in Naples and entered the theatrical world thanks to the "Arrevuoto" project, becoming the Pulcinella of "Ubu sotto tiro" conceived by Marco Martinelli. Immediately afterwards, from 2007 to 2009, he won a scholarship as an actor in the training project "Punta Corsara" (curated by Marco Martinelli), which gave him the opportunity to train with numerous international masters. After completing his training, he founded the Punta Corsara theatre company.

In 2012 the company's group of actors won the "Ubu - revelation under 30" award; in 2017 he won the "Le maschere del teatro italiano" award as best emerging actor for the play "American Buffalo" directed by Marco D'Amore and in the same year he was nominated again for the "Ubu" award as best actor under 35;

From the very beginning he undertook a long theatrical career thanks to the activities of the company of which he is a founder and to other shows directed by masters such as Toni Servillo, Silvio Orlando and Marco D'Amore.

In 2011 he began his cinematographic career with his debut in "La Kryptonite nella borsa" where he played the character of Gennaro Superman, which led him to appear in numerous small roles such as in "Il racconto dei racconti" by Matteo Garrone or in "Una questione privata" by the Taviani brothers. Passing on to more substantial roles, such as in "Lasciati andare" directed by Francesco Amato, he finds himself dealing with more complex and fascinating characters such as in "5 il numero perfetto" directed by Igort and "Martin Eden" directed by Pietro Marcello.

In 2020, with "Paradise - a new life" directed by Davide Del Degan, he played his first starring role in Sicilian dialect.

In television his appearances are limited, except for a small role in the series "Gomorra", until 2021 where he plays the iconic role of Gegè Di Giacomo in the TV movie "Carosello Carosone" directed by Lucio Pellegrini and aired on Rai 1.

We look forward to seeing him on the big screen again in Giuseppe Piccioni's latest film and in "Il pataffio" directed by Francesco Lagi.
