Biography
Marco Damilano is a Roman journalist and editor of the magazine l’Espresso. He graduated in contemporary history from the Faculty of Political Science at the Sapienza University of Rome with a thesis on Italian television and politics in the 1950s and 1960s. He later completed a PhD in Contemporary Italian History at the Roma Tre University. He regularly takes part in the TV show Propaganda Live on La7 and is a commentator on the same network's political programmes. Among his latest published works are: Eutanasia di un potere. Storia politica d’Italia da Tangentopoli alla Seconda Repubblica (Euthanasia of a power. Political history of Italy from Tangentopoli to the Second Republic, Laterza, 2012); Chi ha sbagliato più forte. Le vittorie, le cadute, i duelli dall’Ulivo al Pd (Who made the worst mistakes. Victories, falls and duels from the Ulivo to the PD, Laterza, 2013); La Repubblica del selfie. Dalla meglio gioventù a Matteo Renzi (The Republic of the Selfie. The Moro case and the end of politics in Italy, Feltrinelli, 2018). He was also the editor of Romano Prodi’s book Missione incompiuta. Intervista su politica e democrazia (Mission unfinished. An interview on politics and democracy, Laterza, 2015).
